I know I've said this a few times but...There's a possible chance at an Equestria Girls spin off series. I know some of you are gonna say 'A series?? Heck no! The movie was enough for me! I don't want a whole SERIES of human ponies!' But...let's think about that.
First off we have our obvious cons:
1. Voice actors
Voice actors is one flaw i noticed. They need the mane 6's voice actors to do the girls in My Little Pony but if they were to make a spin-off, they'd need the same people to do the Equestria Girls. Personally, i wouldn't mind if they got different ones for Equestria Girls. Just as long as they stay true to their characters.
Another flaw is the staff. They got the same writer from My Little Pony to do the stuff for the movie. But...yeah you know where i'm going with this.
The last thing i thought of: Ideas for episodes. Well sure we could have our usual school related problems such as tests, studying, failing grades, tadies, etc. But that would get pretty boring after some time. Though they could expand the world and have the whole city as the setting. Going out and about in the community and go through everyday problems. And how would it keep us bronies and pegasisters watching? My Little Pony got us hooked with the fact that its challenging the 'girly' aspects and adding in some more 'adventurous' elements. So...can they do the same with Equestria Girls? The movie worked only because of Twilght's Element of Harmony being in the human world. It's not like the human world has its own Elements of Harmony.
Going back to the movie, we notice a few scenes where they hint at this possible spin off series such as how Pinkie Pie asks Twilight IF SHE HAS A TWIN SISTER WHO LIVES IN THE CITY AND IF THIS TWIN HAS A PET DOG NAMED SPIKE.
But it's not only the movie that has it's winks. If you look at the Equestria Girls toy line, you notice a brand new set featuring (I'm not too sure about the characters) Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Applejack, and Vice-Principal Luna and it's titled THE PEP RALLY set. Though in the movie all we hear of is the Spring Fling and the Fall Formal. Perhaps an idea for an episode from one of the guys at Hasbro?
One thing i forgot to mention in terms of flaws: Talents and Cutie Marks.
One example are the Cutie Mark Crusaders.
In the movie, we notice that the characters don't have any special talents. They do have their cutie marks, however they're just designs on the clothes they wear. If this is so, then...what are the Cutie Mark Crusaders' goal in this world? Thinking about future jobs? Achieving internet fame? Until Hasbro gives us more info, we can only guess.
And i guess that's all i have to say for now. On a personal note, I would love to see a spin-off series based off the movie. Hasbro even said they plan on the spin-off series...unless they were referring to the movie which back then, they only put little though into... Anyways, that's all i have to say. Leave some comments, telling me YOUR thoughts on the subject. I'll talk to you later deviants. PEACE!
